Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you to everyone who has asked us questions and expressed their interest in what we do at The Village. We have collated some of the most frequently asked questions here. If you have any of your own questions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.
What sort of workshops do you host?
The Village hosts a range of workshops with a focus on creative practices and connecting with others. Our workshops include, but are not limited to, sharing, and engaging in the practices of ceramics, wood whittling and lino printing. We are also extremely privileged to be surrounded by and work in collaboration with other creatives to bring you a range of creative workshops.
What can I expect when I attend a workshop?
The Village strives to create safe, calm, inclusive spaces where you are welcome to share as much or as little of yourself as you feel comfortable with and acknowledge the vulnerability it takes to attend a workshop, learn new skills and meet new people. The Village’s workshops are more than just skill learning, they are an experience. An experience to nourish you and include meditation, vegan, low-waste food and seasonal non-alcoholic drinks in a calm, supportive environment. The workshops provide an opportunity to connect to each other but most importantly yourself through creativity. The Village acknowledges that making time for yourself and creativity can be challenging so aim to create an experience that allows you to leave feeling nourished, connected and inspired.
When is the next workshop?
Here, at The Village, we are prioritising the offerings of quality workshops. We are hoping to progress to having regularly scheduled workshops, however, at the moment, are offering workshops and workshops series in alignment with our current seasons.
How do I find out about upcoming workshops?
All our upcoming workshops are listed on our website under the events tab. We also share these to our Instagram page and our Facebook page, and you can sign up to our mailing list. You are also more than welcome to message us on Instagram or send us an email via thevillage@outlook.com.au.
Do you host private workshops?
This is a new question that has come up a bit lately, and we are so excited to be asked this question. We would absolutely love the opportunity to host private workshops when we have the capacity to. Please reach out to us by email (thevillage@outlook.com.au) or Instagram message to enquire, and we can start planning.
Do you have a store?
Having a physical store and a consistent space where we can all come together is an absolute dream of ours. However, as The Village is a relatively new venture, we are currently hosting workshops at venues that align to the creative practice and cater for the needs of the workshop. Additionally, we sell our pieces at markets, the annual Art Trail, and through Instagram, so please keep an eye on our socials to find out when these are.
How is sustainability a part of workshops?
At The Village, sustainability and our impact on the environment is a consideration in every decision we make. Some of this is visible during workshops, some of it isn’t. This includes things such as low-waste food preparation or catering, composting all food scraps from workshops, no single-use items and reusable room decorations. When choosing creative practices to learn, practice and share, sustainability is a consideration from materials used, environmental impact during creating and what happens to a product at the end of its life.
