As I type this I am currently 5 and a half months pregnant and since I can remember, being a mother is something I have always wanted and dreamt of. Each day I feel so lucky and grateful that I have the opportunity to raise a human being that me and my love have created together.
One of the many things I am looking forward to teaching my little bub is the importance of learning from mother earth. We are so lucky to be surrounded by all the natural wonders and there is so much to learn from that.
To raise a child surrounded by nature allows them to explore their imagination, creativity and allows them to connect with the land and animals around them. To be able to share the love of the natural world around us is something I am looking forward to sharing with bub soooo much.
To learn through connection and with natural elements and objects will teach bub to explore different shapes, textures and colours in the most important and simple way. Creating art with a little someone you have created is something I will cherish forever. I’m excited to find out what creative energies make them happy. I believe focusing on creativity in nature will also allow bub to gain knowledge on the environment, eco friendly practices and sustainability which is a massive importance to me. Promoting wellbeing emotionally is a massive aspect of a growing bubba and doing this with nature and land in mind is really essential.
I have put together a few craft activities I am planning on doing with bub
● Choose a colour palette and match objects found in nature with those colours
● Paint and draw with ground natural elements and materials
● Press flowers that we have gathered together in the garden
● Paint with sticks and twigs. Attach flowers and leaves to the end of the stick to act as
brush strokes
● Build sand sculptures at the beach
● Make native seed bombs to ‘litter’ around EVERYWHERE (Shhhh don’t tell anyone)
The most exciting thing me and my partner Jordan are looking forward to is playing and appreciating music with bubba. Music is SO important to us both and we both quite enjoy an eclectic variety of music. Bubba is going to come out of the womb a musical genius!
To be able to share nature with bubba and teach them to not take but appreciate and respect from mother earth is the main goal and that really excites me.
